How It Started

I wasn’t trying to start a business. I’d been collecting patches for months — laying them out, moving one an inch to the left, then right back again.

An hour disappeared, then another. I hadn’t touched my phone once.

That’s the part I wasn’t expecting — that making something with your hands does something to you while you’re doing it. No right answer, no one to approve it. Just you, deciding what goes where.

When I finished, I had a bag that looked like the inside of my head. Not a trend, not someone else’s idea of me. Mine.

And then people started talking to me about it.

Not a polite compliment on the way past — real conversations. Strangers, in the middle of an ordinary errand, having an actual exchange because of a bag.

That’s when I understood what this really was. A bag that’s genuinely yours does something different. It doesn’t just say something about you. It gives people a way in.

So that’s what PrettyMUCH is for. Every patch, pin, and charm here is something I loved enough to keep — not something chosen to fill a gap in a catalog. You pick the ones that mean something to you, you put them where you want them, and you walk away with the only one. Not one of many. The only one there is.

That’s the kind of luxury I actually believe in — the kind that has nothing to do with price, and everything to do with the fact that nobody else is carrying it.
